Swansea Christmas Parade (Lights Switch On)

Tasked by Swansea Council to ensure that as well as the parade being visually spectacular, that all in attendance were greeted with all the sounds associated with the festive season, throughout the parade and on the multiple stages.

After a lengthy consultation period, Total Sound Solutions designed 11 different P.A. systems for rolling floats such as the Ice Queen, Encanto and the ever-important Santas Sleigh.  These systems had to support a range of different types of media and vocal mics, depending on the functionality of the float. Due to the adaptability and IP rating, we used NEXO PS10s exclusively on each float, with some of the speakers, colour matched to suit the floats décor.  These speakers were paired with NEXO 4X2 quad amps and cloud media mixers.  A range of spigots and rigging arms were installed to ensure that the systems were held in place throughout the parade.

At the first switch on point, the Castle stage, we set up a 24ft x 8ft stage, complete with steps and handrails to ensure safety.  This was populated with our NEXO M10 Ground stack combining 6x M1012 speakers coupled with 6x MSUB15 Sub, along with Nexo P15 from front fills.  The dispersal of this system allowed for sound to be directional, ensuring that the watching audience could hear the presenters and each of the performing arts.  Yamaha DXR12 for on stage monitoring, all run by our NEXO NUAR amp rack and controlled by our engineers with a Allen & Heath SQ5 Digital Consoles.  We added some of our range of festoon lighting to add that additional sparkle to the stage.
