Lakefest 2024
With a stunning line up including The Stranglers, The Libertines and Olly Murs, plus DJ sets from Rudimental and Sigala, the team were onsite throughout the festival providing valuable support and assistance, ensuring the success of this ever-growing festival.
After many pre-event production meetings, we decided that the best system for the main stage was to rig the stage with left and right hangs of 12x NEXO Geo M1210 and 8x MSUB18 flown, plus 2 separate hangs of 5 x NEXO Geo M12 for delays and a single hang of NEXO Geo M10 for the VIP side hang. Eight RS18 subs were deployed across the front of the stage with additional MSUB18s in a cardioid formation to ensure perfect Sub-Bass in the areas required, with NEXO’s versatile P15 point source speakers used for front fills.
The ever-popular NEXO Alpha-E system was deployed for side fill duties, much to the pleasure of the visiting Engineers. For Stage Monitoring we utilised the Nexo P12 Coaxial Speakers in native 60×60 dispersion, along with Nexo L15 Sub-Bass for Drum fill Duties. During the DJ Sets from Rudimental and Sigla the Nexo P18 Speaker coupled with the ever-impressive Nexo L20 Sub-Bass provided the punch required.
For desks, we supplied a Yamaha CL5 and a Yamaha DM7 all running on Dante, backed up by a RIO3224-D2 Digital Stageboxes. A range of Pioneer CDJ-3000 and Pioneer A9 Mixers were also supplied throughout the 4 stages dependent on the artists riders.
Our new Sennheiser EW-DX 8-way racks were supplied as the standard main stage wireless microphones with a selection of DPA, Shure, Sennheiser, AT & AKG mics being utilised by the many touring musicians. Sennheiser 2000 Series was used for Wireless Monitoring.
With a team of 11 on hand throughout the festival, including engineers, stagehands and techs, Total Sound Solutions were on hand from set up to pack down, ensuring that every stage ran smoothly over the course of the festival.
Site production manager, Mark Whitehouse of Reaper Events said “The system sounds fantastic and Total Sound are a dream to work with. Everything ran like clockwork and Total Sound Solutions really knocked it out of the park.”
A series of visiting engineers were similarly enthusiastic about Total Sound Solutions and the NEXO GEO M12 system, including Russell Tite who mixed The Twang at Lakefest on Thursday, returning on Saturday to do the same for Jake Bugg.
“I had the pleasure of visiting twice. The Total Sound Solutions guys were top notch and great guys to hang out with. And the PA sounded pretty damn good too! It was really easy to achieve the mix I was looking for, both on the house console with The Twang and bringing in our own control package with Jake.”
As well as supporting the main stage, we also supplied PA equipment to the 6 support stages, utilising a range of Yamaha DXR speakers and NEXO ranges including L Series, P Series, RS Series, and ID Series. Our ever-popular NEXO M10 ground stack supplied the “Road to Lakefest” stage, delivering more punch, to deliver a fantastic four days of live music for 18,000 people.
