Neath Fair 2024

With a history dating back to a Charter granted in 1280, Neath Fair once again took place in September 2024 on the busy streets of Neath town centre.

Since 2019, Total Sound Solutions have supplied temporary power solutions for the Fair’s many traders dotted throughout the busy town.

Working closely with Neath Town Council, the planning for this event takes place 6 months before the 4-day Fair.  This year, with over 140 traders on-site ranging from hot food trucks to clothing stalls to toys and games, it was vital that power for the traders was designed to ensure the Health and Safety of everyone coming into contact with the stalls, and to ensure a consistent and safe supply of electricity throughout the 4 days and nights of the Fair.

Once the traders were allocated their stall positions, it was then up to Total Sound Solutions to design a power plan while ensuring minimal disruption to the city’s already bustling town centre, its shops, and businesses during the setup.

Using a combination of street power boxes and a variety of generators provided by Total Sound Solutions, power was safely distributed to each stall over a two-day installation, tailored to their specific energy requirements.  The generators ranged from 20kVA to 100kVA, ensuring a reliable power supply.  Approximately two miles of power cables were installed with careful planning to minimize trip hazards for both visitors and traders. Additionally, our range of distribution units featured individual switches, allowing for quick fault isolation and minimizing downtime.

We ensured that a team member was always on-site during the Fair to maintain a continuous power supply and promptly address any issues that arose.

Neath Town Council were looking for an all-in-one tailored solution of power & overnight security.  Working closely with Safestyle Security, we enlisted their help to fulfil the tender.
